We are a community of people inspired by the Benedictine monastic tradition, who carefully listen to and implement the new turmoil suggested by the Spirit, and carry out activities in the “Monastery of San Biagio - Center for Spirituality. "
We are an open and evolving community, built with the help of the Spirit and the gifts of its members, pledged to respect Mother Earth and the women and men who live in it. Our attitude is to protect the Earth and the environment, with special attention to the relationship with nature through the collaboration with the staff of the Natural Park “Oasi Crava – Morozzo”. We support the dialogue with the different religious and cultural human communities, in order to promote unity while respecting diversity.
We are a community whose goals are:
The dove is an animal appearing in both the Old and the New Testament.
In Genesis, Chapter 8 "Lowering the water", we can read: "Noah then released a dove, in order to see if the waters were withdrawing, but the dove, not finding where to lay its foot, came back to him into the Ark, because there was still water throughout the world. He stretched out his hand, took it with him into the Ark. He waited another seven days and again released the dove and the dove returned to him in the evening, and behold, it had an olive branch in its beak."
The dove is a symbol of hope which is never disappointed, tenacity, endurance and fides (in the double meaning of faith and trust), all of this being successful in the end.
In the Gospel of John, Chapter 1, we can read: "After me comes a man who is now forward, because he was before me. I do not know him, but I have come to baptize him with water because he was known to Israel. "And John bore witness saying:" I saw the Spirit descending like a dove from the sky and landing on him. "
The Holy Spirit is compared to the flight of the dove.
In the logo the dove retains an olive branch in its beak, symbol of Peace and Easter.
The rainbow, as a modern symbol printed on the flags, reinforces the message.
The word "peace", which is the Benedictine motto and a motto and greeting in all religions, is written in various languages and thus emphasizes the universality.
The world, visibly smaller than the dove, reminds of the vision of S. Benedict: "In this vision there was a wonderful phenomenon: the whole world was placed in front of his eyes, almost collected under a single ray of sunshine." (see "The Life of Saint Benedict by St. Gregory the Great").
